aphids in the vegetable garden

In my opinion gardeners are the most nurturing people in the world but if there’s one thing that gardeners dislike for sure it’s got to be Aphids.

Aphids like to gather in groups and feed on tender leaves, branches and buds.  They feed on the plant’s sap and can really damage a plant. You can find them in the underside of leaves.  That’s why I think it’s a good idea to always walk your garden and inspect your plants.

Instead of using chemicals that can be harmful to the garden as well as beneficial insects I use water.  A garden hose is your best friend in the fight.  A blast of water from your hose is often all you need.  Aphids can be quite relentless so you may have to do this a few times until they are finally gone.
