Hummingbirds are one of my favorite birds. They are so beautiful. I love seeing them flying and dancing around our garden. Hummingbirds must eat about half of their body weight which day.
We plant lots of hummingbird flowers like Foxglove, Lupine, Bee balm, Pincushion, Zinnias, Scarlet sage, Phlox and many others and we also keep several feeders in our garden. We make our own hummingbird nectar. Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 cups water
Boil mixture until sugar is completely dissolved. Allow mixture to cool and pour into hummingbird feeder. If you have extra nectar you can store it in the refrigerator.
